Your Role

The Manager – Tourism Industry Development will support the delivery of a range of initiatives to rebuild and strengthen the tourism industry and its workforce, to support high quality visitor experiences across Victoria.

The successful applicant will work with the Industry Development team to deliver initiatives such as increasing the digital and business capabilities of tourism businesses through tailored training modules and a workforce audit to assess state-wide tourism workforce requirements and gaps.

Your Skills

  • Strong public policy knowledge and skills, including an ability to structure problems, analyse data and communicate solutions to decision-makers and proven experience contributing to policy implementation.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to gain cooperation and undertake complex negotiations with senior stakeholders, together with experience in the preparation of high level reports, briefs and recommendations on highly complex issues.  This requires excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills including the development of reports, PowerPoint presentations and diagrams, submissions and briefings that are concise and engaging.
  • Stakeholder and relationship management skills to build trust, collaboration and consensus across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Initiative and flexibility combined with ability to work effectively in a team environment characterised by short and often conflicting time frames and manage staff in a positive way to build a collaborative and positive culture.
  • Proven ability to develop, manage and deliver projects to achieve stated business outcomes.
