Our Operational Communications division is responsible for coordinating and optimising state-wide emergency and non-emergency ambulance response, as well as the provision of patient care through Australia's largest ambulance triage directorate. 

About the role

Ambulance Victoria currently have a brilliant opportunity for a Manager, Triage Operations to join our Triage Services directorate. Working closely with the Director, Operational Triage Services, this position is accountable for the overall leadership of staff and the management of operational issues within Secondary Triage. 

With a key focus on leading process and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve greater efficiencies and alignment to policies and procedures, this position is critical to:

• Management of operational triage personnel and operational issues within Secondary Triage to achieve key performance indicators and compliance with appropriate operating guidelines and performance standards providing an efficient and consistent approach to service delivery across the organisation
• Leading process and continuous review, assessment, and improvement initiatives across triage services
• Provision of strong and effective leadership, coaching and mentoring to the secondary triage leadership team and personnel by fostering a performance based, collaborative culture with a commitment to world class standards
• Advising on and recommending strategies, improvements, and best practice in areas of service delivery, systems, performance, and clinical standards

About you

Suited to highly motivated and innovative individual, the successful applicant will possess: 

• Previous experience at a senior level in communications (i.e., call taking and dispatch centres/projects/ call centres) and/or operations with an ambulance, emergency services, health, or allied service delivery organisation
• Current AHPRA Paramedic or Division 1 Nurse registration
• Demonstrated high level of understanding of call taking and dispatch systems/communications technology
• Experience and understanding of Secondary Triage practices and the whole of health system approach to health pathways
• A high level of communication with an ability to build and maintain relationship with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external
• A coaching, mentoring and leadership approach to management with an emphasis on welfare and well-being support

The commencement slary for this position is $198,617 inclusive of CAA2 allowance, plus 10% superannuation.
