Manager Workplace Relations

• Annual Salary Range: $124,033 - $165,983 per annum plus superannuation
• Tenure: Ongoing

About the Team

The Workplace Relations Branch sits within the People and Culture Division providing business enabling people and corporate services functions, to drive a high-performance culture and to support integrated operations.

About the Opportunity

The Manager Workplace Relations is responsible for the management of the Workplace Relations Advisor team, providing high level strategic and authoritative advice on complex and sensitive issues to senior management. You'll play a key role in identifying emerging workplace relations risks, actively and collaboratively working with relevant People and Culture stakeholders to develop positive workplace relation interventions.

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience in providing strategic and expert workplace relations advice and working to tight timeframes on critical matters.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies arising from the VPS agreement and other relevant industrial and employment instruments.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communications with the ability to develop policies, processes, and interventions.
• Proven experience in enterprise bargaining negotiations as well as providing sound advice on related matters.
• Demonstrated ability to represent the department in external forums and tribunals such as FWC.
• Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to respond creatively to issues raised.
• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining working relationships with key stakeholders, including union representatives, departmental managers and staff and central agencies.
• Demonstrated experience managing a team including coaching and mentoring staff.
