  • Location: Melbourne CBD Here is a great opportunity within the Corporate Services Group to provide media support to a wide range of stakeholders.

The Media Adviser is responsible for providing media support, issues management and advice to groups, senior executives and ministerial offices. A key aspect of this role is managing relationships with senior stakeholders, journalists and DELWP staff at all levels. 

The Media Adviser will deal directly with media outlets and provide responses on behalf of the department. You must be available to take calls from journalists outside normal work hours. The Media Adviser will play a key role in the department's emergency response and all hazards media and communications

Specialist/Technical Expertise

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.  A degree with a major in Communications and/or journalism is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working in the government sector is highly desirable
  • Previous experience working with the media is highly desirable
