About us
The Portable Long Service Authority is an independent statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme.
The Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme began on 1 July 2019 to ensure eligible workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries can build up long service benefits based on time in their industry, rather than with a single employer.
About the role
The Media and Communications Adviser plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the Portable Long Service Authority communications and engagement initiatives.
Reporting to the Communications and Engagement Manager and working closely with the Digital Communications Officer, this role will provide expert writing and editing skills for a range of internal and external strategic communications and will source and deliver successful media announcements and events while effectively identifying and mitigating reputational issues and risks.
As part of the Corporate Governance, Communications and Education Division, the Digital Communications Adviser is responsible for proactively driving the development of high-level and engaging content for media and digital channels.
The role also actively participates in a broad range of communication tasks, events and activities to support the delivery of the Division's work. Some ad hoc after-hours work may be required.
