Medical Equipment Coordinator

Your new role

This senior position plays a critical role in ensuring Clinical Engineering provides robust asset management across the medical equipment device portfolio and is primarily responsible for the scheduling and management of medical equipment projects, contracts, maintenance and record management.

The coordinator role has a high level of autonomy and reports to the Clinical Engineering Manager.

The role has shared responsibility in regard to the provision and development of all aspects of Medical Equipment asset provision and life-cycle management, which supports the principles of the Department of Treasury and Finance Asset Management Accountability Framework and Melbourne Health’s strategic and service objectives.

You will be involved in

  • Project co-ordination of various Clinical Engineering led projects

  • Management of medical device cybersecurity planning, documentation and review.

  • Managing the provision of our newly established Central Equipment Library (CEL) service, including management of a small team.

  • Liaising with stakeholders

  • Data management

  • Ensuring compliance with guidelines and relevant standards

About you

This exciting and varied position requires an incumbent with formal qualification in Healthcare Administration, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent, as well as:

  • Demonstrated experience in Project Administration

  • Experience in writing and presenting technical specs and requirements

  • Excellent organisational skills, sound judgment and initiative

  • Aptitude for problem resolution

  • Solid administrative and computer skills

  • Effective communication skills

  • An understanding of customer service and phone help with a focus on active listening and customer response.
