Regulatory Programs and Services (RPS) is a Division of the Department of Transport, that supports the delivery of registration and licensing and other regulatory operational services, including compliance and assurance for road transport regulation underpinning safety and productivity in Victoria. The Division has the responsibility and oversight of managing the VicRoads Concession Deed of the joint venture partner relationship for the delivery of registration and licensing and custom plates services, managing data sharing and access of the driver and vehicle register for Victoria which includes the protection of confidential customer data on behalf of the State.
About the Team
The Medical Review team are responsible for ensuring all licensed drivers are medically fit to drive and have the necessary skills to drive safely. We do this by carrying out fitness to drive assessments or medical reviews, aligned to the national medical standards for licensing (Assessing Fitness to Drive for commercial and private vehicle drivers).
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Medical Review Team Leader, the Medical Review Officer is primarily assessing and resolving medical review case files through interpretation and application of established medical guidelines, rules and processes in accordance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate must have the capability to source accurate and appropriate information and provide advice on fitness to drive decisions and next steps, for all our customers and have the capability to exercise professional judgement and work constructively with colleagues to contribute to case management decisions.
