Autism Mental Health Speech Pathologist

  • Exciting new Speech Pathology role within Adult Mental Health Services

  • Be an integral part of a new initiative and  specialist Autism team

  • Waratah Clinic in Moonee Ponds and The Royal Melbourne Hospital

Your new team

  • West AMHS is implementing a new initiative to provide assessment and diagnosis, ongoing clinical care, facilitate referral pathways and build capacity within mental health clinicians for Autistic adults.

  • The Inner West AMHS is committed to co-design of the Model of Care.

  • You will be part of a small team of supportive clinicians working from both the RMH and Waratah Clinic in Moonee Ponds implementing this new part of our service.

  • The Autism Mental Health Speech Pathologist will be part of a small team who are passionate about supporting Autistic individuals and their families and carers.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Be an integral part of our specialist team (Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist/Coordinator and a lived experience Peer Support Worker), providing primary and secondary consultation for complex mental health consumers who may have, or require, an assessment for Autism, as well as their mental illness.

  • Willingness to learn how to apply your experience working with Autisitc people, in a mental health setting

  • Contribute to the Autism assessment and diagnostic process, ongoing clinical care within the mental health service, facilitate referral pathways to support services, and build capacity of the mental health service
