About the role

South West Healthcare's (SWH) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service is a specialised and highly proficient team seeking applications from committed and dynamic mental health professionals to join them and provide experience, growth and development.

The role provides an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team to develop specialist skills in crisis assessment and a range of interventions for children, young people and their families including but not limited to: eating disorders, autism, early intervention and infant mental health.

This ongoing Mental Health Clinician position is available as full time and is available to commence from February 2021.

 

What you bring

As an experienced Clinician (Social Worker, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist) you will have a sound appreciation of evidence-based contemporary child, adolescent and family mental health practices. Experience in triage, crisis and comprehensive assessment/duty work or related activities is essential for the position.

The role requires sound knowledge of relevant mental health clinical techniques and interventions, current mental health, Guardianship & Administration, and Children & Young Person's legislation and a working knowledge of Recovery Oriented practices and of trauma informed care.

The successful applicant must have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and initiative with proven ability to work autonomously and within a team, as well as an ability to demonstrate good judgement, work planning, decision-making abilities and organisational skills.

Employment Terms and Conditions will be in line with theVictorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020 or Victorian Public Health sector (Medical Scientists, Pharmacists & Psychologists) Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021, with the appropriate classification Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 3, Allied Health Professional Grade 2 or Psychologist Grade 1 or 2.
