The Mental Health Division provides care and services through a comprehensive range of teams to meet the needs of mental health consumers and carers throughout Victoria. Services are located across Austin Health campuses and in the community. All mental health services work within a clinical framework that promotes recovery-oriented practice and supported decision making. This approach to consumer wellbeing builds on the strengths of the individual working in partnership with their treating team and their community relationships. It encompasses the principles of self-determination and individualised treatment and care.
An exciting new opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Senior Clinician to join the team as a Mental Health Promotions and Well Being Coordinator at Austin Health's Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS).
The role is integral to Austin CYMHS and the development and continued relationship with community services and stakeholders, particularly managing our partnerships with school and educational services within Austin CYMHS’ catchment. It is expected that the incumbent will hold a central role in the provision of systemic and collaborative secondary and tertiary consultation, education and support to schools as well as identified community- based and tier 2 mental health services such as Child Protection, family support and welfare services, family violence services, drug and alcohol services, headspace as well as primary health teams and the private sector.
This role is part of and has reach across the Mental Health Division/Austin Health to support the mental health needs of young people and their families. Working together with the CYMHS teams, lived experience workforce and management this role holds a strong passion and commitment to improve the mental health and potential of young people.
