In the position you will contribute to the effective rendition of business requirements into high quality solutions for the organisation’s web and internal business systems. You will provide consulting, analysis and test automation development services throughout development ensuring a robust solution is delivered for both customer acceptance testing and production.

Greyhound Racing Victoria is the statutory authority responsible for regulating, conducting and promoting greyhound racing in Victoria, a sport that annually generates around $400 million in economic activity and over $3 billion in wagering and directly involves over 15,000 people. As the Automated Test Developer, you will be expected to have well developed technical skills and knowledge. You will be required to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative while mentoring junior and mid-level QA team members.

On a typical day, you will:

  • Aid in defining and driving test automation strategies, frameworks, process and execution using web automation tools and frameworks in order to increase testing productivity, speed of delivery, system performance and test coverage
  • Development of features and requirements for strategic testing
  • Creating test automation scripts and frameworks to support the deliverables in both web and mobile platforms
  • Acquiring and applying knowledge of new developments within test automation that has a positive influence on GRV IT business systems
  • Analyse and translate business requirements into software specifications describing how a product will work from the user's (or customer's) perspective and identifying tasks required for the delivery of the software solution
  • Maintain robust documentation for test cases and results, risks, issues and defects
  • Engage with colleagues to collaboratively and individually to solve problems; support the learning and development of peers
  • Respond to requests from senior management, Quality Assurance Lead, Automation Test Lead, project management, planners and end users
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into acceptance criteria, test plans and test cases
  • Ensure all critical paths within the digital platform are covered with acceptable test cases

To ensure your success, you will have:

  • Extensive knowledge in manual and automation testing with exposure to Agile
  • 8+ years professional experience in a quality assurance role
  • Exposure to mobile application testing, cross- browser testing and API testing
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular JS,CSS, HTML, Azure Devops and Jenkins
  • Working experience with TSQL,MSSQL and Postgres
  • Working experience in commercial automation tools, Protractor, Selenium WebDriver, Appium etc
  • Sound working experience in use of and maintaining automated functional test frameworks
  • Working experience in JIRA
