Applications are now open to candidates anticipating initial registration as a Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse/Midwife in 2022 to join the Monash Health Graduate Program in the following streams:

Midwifery Streams:

  • Midwifery Stream (February 2022 commencement)

  • Midwifery Midyear Stream (Mid-year 2022 commencement)

 Double Degree Streams:

  • Double Degree Stream (February 2022 commencement)

  • Double Degree Midyear Stream (Mid-year 2022 commencement)

To apply for these streams you must be eligible to participate in Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Allocation and Placement System.

Midwifery and Double Degree Streams offer:

  • Permanent employment opportunities are available in a wide range of areas and guaranteed within Monash Health Bureau (Pool) at the conclusion of the program

  • A twelve month structured program to consolidate your skills;

  • A comprehensive orientation program conducted over December 2021 & January 2022

 Part-time hours

  • 0.84 EFT; 64 hours per fortnight or 0.95EFT 72 hours per fortnight

  • Five (5) weeks annual leave pro rata over twelve (12) months   or

 Full time hours

  • 1.0 EFT 76 hrs per fortnight + ADO hrs accruing at 4 hrs per fortnight

  • Six (6) weeks annual leave pro rata over 12 months

 Graduate Midwives complete four (4) three-month rotations within their program:

  • Two (2) birth suite rotations

  • Two (2) post/antenatal rotations

 Double Degree Graduates complete four (4) three-month rotations within their program:

  • Two (2) birth suite rotations

  • One (1) post/antenatal rotation

  • One (1) nursing rotation within a wide range of acute clinical areas

As part of your application you will need to submit a copy of a recent official academic transcript.

3. Clinical Appraisals

Upload your two (2) most recent summative clinical appraisal documents/tools under the ‘Other Documents’ field when you submit your application documentation. Double Degree applicants should submit one nursing and one midwifery summative clinical appraisal.

Working with Children’s Check, Fit2Work Police Check & Immunisation Check

A current ‘Employee’ Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC), a valid Fit2Work police check and a complete immunisation status check is required for all successful graduate applicants. Any offer of employment will be confirmed on the successful outcome of a police check and WWCC.
