Monash Newborn, situated in the Monash Children’s hospital, is a 64 bed medical and surgical neonatal unit, with a reputation for delivering outstanding family centred care to neonates.

About Post Graduate Coursework

Melbourne University offers the Master of Advanced Nursing Practice, with exit options available at either the Graduate Certificate or the Graduate Diploma. The Graduate certificate in Nursing Practice – Neonatal Intensive Care course promotes an understanding of the theoretical aspects of NICU nursing to support current and safe practice. It offers the opportunity to integrate the theory and practice into the NICU. This can be undertaken over 12 months or an extended pathway by first completing the Specialist Certificate in Neonates. For those wishing to pursue a career in Special Care Nursing the Specialist Certificate in Neonates can be undertaken as a standalone course.

What you need:

  • You are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Authority (AHRPA)

  • You can demonstrate 12 months recent acute nursing experience within Australia;

  • You are willing to work  full or part time across a seven day rotating roster including night shifts during your studies
