  • Usual Work Location: Mildura - Mallee area (negotiable across regional VIC)

About the Team

Transport Services is a Group within the Department of Transport, and is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and accessible transport infrastructure and services to all Victorians. Regional Transport is a Division of Transport Services and is responsible for delivering a better transport experience connecting regional communities, businesses and visitors.

About the Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to provide sound road safety and traffic engineering advice to the community and internal and external stakeholders.

About You

  • Ability to use conceptual and analytical skills to provide sound advice on appropriate Acts, Standards, Regulations, Codes and Guidelines for road safety, traffic engineering and planning principles.
  • Ability to apply the principles and procedures of relevant Acts, Standards, Regulations, Codes and Guidelines relating to road safety, traffic engineering and planning activities.
  • Ability to think strategically and consider any politically sensitive matters and address where appropriate to protect DoT reputation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (i.e.: write articulately and persuasively and articulate verbally), negotiate and influence stakeholders and community to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Ability to develop expertise in road safety, traffic engineering and planning principles and provide innovative responses to complex problems
