What You Will Be Doing

The SHARPS NSP Outreach Worker’s key role is the provision of Harm Reduction services including distributing sterile needle and syringes. The NSP Worker also provides health information particularly relating to safer injecting of illicit drugs. The Worker will also assist in the referral to other services such as Drug and Alcohol, GPs, housing, health services and have the ability to empathize with current injecting drug users.

What You Need

• Current Victorian Drivers License
• Demonstrated understanding of the philosophy of Harm Reduction and its applicability to IDU
• Certificate IV in Drug & Alcohol and or agreement to complete
• Knowledge of relevant service provider groups
• Effectively liaise with relevant service providers
• Understands the purpose of, and is able to use, common software applications for word processing and email
