About the role

Grampians Health has an exciting opportunity in the Information Technology department for a Network Engineer to join our busy team due to internal promotion.

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring and maintaining Grampians Rural Health Alliance (GRHA) and Grampians Health (GH) network and security infrastructure.

The Network Engineer will work closely with the Network Engineering Team and Network Manager as required to identify efficiency in network and security that enables GRHA/GH to further invest in and enhance the network.

Additionally, the successful applicant will contribute to the improvement of processes and documentation to ensure the technical operations team delivers operational excellence.  The role requires problem-solving skills and judgement using sound knowledge in networking and security to achieve organisational goals and service level targets.

The successful candidate will work well in a team with other network staff members, provide exception customer service and will be keen and learn and grow in the team.

This is a great opportunity for a network engineer to gain experience in a large and dynamic network and work with cutting edge network technology. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate a unique opportunity to be involved in some key projects.

Skills and experience

  • Experience as Network Engineer or Network Support technician
  • Experience in troubleshooting LAN, WAN and VOIP networks

Experience in the following technologies are highly regarded:

  • Cisco or Fortinet Firewalls 
  • Cisco or Fortinet Switching 
  • Routing using OSPF and/or BGP 
  • Enterprise Wireless networks - Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet
