About the Role

An opportunity exists for two committed and enthusiastic Neurologists to join the Neurology Service at Western Health for a six-month period to cover long service leave.

Position 1: Commencing 1 July 2021 to 24 February 2022.

Four sessions per week available, which include two weekly outpatient clinics at Footscray Hospital and two months of ward service at Sunshine Hospital. This position may lead towards a permanent session with two months of ward service at Sunshine Hospital should the candidate be interested in a permanent role within our department.

Position 2: Commencing 3 May 2021 to 31 October 2021.

Two sessions per week available for an EMG clinic on Monday morning and Neuroimmunology Clinic on Monday afternoon.

Western Health provides medical services to a large region of Greater Western Melbourne, which is one of the fastest growing areas in Australia. The Western Health Neurology Service is a vibrant and active unit, dedicated to meeting the needs of this large and diverse population.

The 0.4 EFT position (28 hours per fortnight) and the 0.2 EFT position (14 hours per fortnight) in the Department of Neurology will be required to support ward service at Sunshine and Footscray Hospitals. The position also includes involvement in the unit’s educational and audit activities, Clinical Research service, teaching and training, and after hours on-call (including weekend service shared between neurologists). There may be opportunities for additional sessions to cover leave in some outpatient clinics during the contract period.
