About Aged Persons Mental Health Community Teams
The community teams have six sub-teams within two larger teams which are based in Kingston Centre and is known as the Middle South Aged Persons Mental Health Team (APMHT). The other is based in Endeavour Hills and is known as the Dandenong APMHT. The service provides assessment and treatment for people aged 65 years and over, who have a psychiatric disability and/or dementia with associated behaviours of concern requiring specialist treatment.
About the Role
APMHS Clinical Neuropsychologists deliver high quality, evidenced based assessment to older adults in the community. The Grade 3 Clinical Neuropsychologist will undertake a diverse role in investigating, triaging, documenting and providing neuropsychological assessment and recommendations to outpatients with cognitive, behavioural, psychological, and/or personality factors that are potentially impacting on everyday living. Diagnostic assessments and assessment of decision-making capacity are common, and in addition to direct client work, neuropsychologists also provide secondary consultation to the mental health teams and a broad range of relevant stakeholders. The Grade 3 role may include supervision of Grade 2 neuropsychologists and students, delivering staff education and training, and undertaking quality improvement projects.
The role is permanent ongoing. The position is 0.4 EFT (or 2 days per week) and flexible, family-friendly hours are supported.
About You
You enjoy working within a team environment and can also work autonomously. You have a keen focus on fostering relationships to improve service provision and deliver patient-centred care. Your ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to a wide audience is a core competency for this position, along with excellent time-management skills and knowledge in working with patients with complex neuropsychological issues. You have a strong drive to deliver evidence based psychological assessment that can be measured for effectiveness.
