Working in healthcare has never been more important or meaningful.

Our experienced and highly regarded Nurse Manager in Casey Dialysis is leaving us after many years of service.  As a result, we now have a great opportunity for you to apply to join our team in a leadership role where you can further develop and grow our renal service.

Lead and grow an established workforce and continue to make improvements to what is already a great place to work.

This is a permanent (ongoing) role, working full time hours Monday-Friday.

Our Unit and our team

Casey Dialysis Unit has 18 chairs and cares for 78 patients.  We operate Monday—Saturday inclusive, providing dialysis for both inpatient and ambulatory outpatient services.  In addition, we support Acute and Subacute rehabilitation wards, for patients who require dialysis during their admission.

Our Dialysis nursing team is highly skilled and experienced and love what they do.  With a strong focus on team nursing, we offer a supportive and friendly environment to our patients and staff alike and our primary focus is to deliver excellence in patient care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, care givers and the wider community.

A day in the life of a Nurse Manager in Casey Haemodialysis

The Nurse Manager position is integral to delivering an interdisciplinary model of care that ensures both outstanding care and outcomes.  With financial accountability for the Unit’s operations, you’ll also support your Associate Nurse Managers with their clinical and people leadership responsibilities.

You’ll enjoy leading a committed and skilled team.  Your instinctive focus on continuous improvement will see you critically examining our work methods and identifying and implementing appropriate changes to deliver even better outcomes.

What you bring

You are a born leader, with a positive attitude.  Your enthusiasm for your work enables you to engage readily with your team and you naturally bring people with you on your journey.   Your expertise and experience are highly valued and you share your passion for renal nursing through role modelling to the team.

You can also demonstrate:

  • Previous effective team leadership and management experience

  • A commitment to safe practice, utilising a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards

  • Skills in leading the planning, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of care at a consistently high standard

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and health outcomes

  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with health professionals, support staff and other stakeholders, both internal and external to Monash Health

Relevant qualifications in renal nursing are a prerequisite for this role and previous experience as a Nurse Manager will be highly regarded.

In return:

You’ll relish the chance to work with our highly respected and experienced Leadership team in a dynamic environment that is dedicated to safe best practice.  You’ll be challenged, and you’ll no doubt grow your skills, knowledge and confidence while leading an already high performing team.
