About the Nursing and Midwifery Informatics team

The Nursing and Midwifery Informatics team is led by the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Information Officer (CNMIO) and is an integral part of the Digital Health Directorate. The Nursing and Midwifery Informatics team consists of the CNMIO, a Deputy CNMIO, a Nursing and Midwifery Informatics Analyst and the Nursing and Midwifery Informatics Officers. The Nursing and Midwifery Informatics Officer’s work closely with nurses and midwives across Monash Health to ensure Digital Health solutions align with nursing and midwifery workforce requirements and enhances workflows and patient care requirements

This Nursing and Midwifery Informatics Officer role will work on the delivery of specific areas of the EMR and Informatics Optimisation Plan. Using your nursing/midwifery, analytical, engagement and EMR skills you will form part of an expert and dynamic team working to optimise the EMR and associated workflows. A key focus of this role will be data analysis and presentation in a way that supports and informs our nursing and midwifery workforce.

This is a part time ongoing role (0.6EFT).

About You

You have been developing your clinical and leadership skills as a senior clinical nurse/midwife or have worked in informatics. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering innovative solutions to enable improved patient care outcomes.

Registered nurses and midwives should apply who have:

  • General aptitude for solving problems and using technology to improve processes

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and (via AHPRA) and Australian working rights

  • Proficient or expert level proficiency working in a nursing or midwifery role within the hospital environment

  • Experience with EMR and/or other clinical information systems

  • Proven ability to support Digital Health innovation and nursing and midwifery teams

  • Proficient or advanced Excel and data analysis skills

  • Demonstrated experience (aligned to position description noting no reference to years of experience)
