Rural Allied Health Team
Occupational Therapist -  Grade 2


Permanent Full Time position available 
80hrs per fortnight.

Come and join the GV Health Rural Allied Health Team (RAHT), a team with a well renowned supportive workplace culture with an opportunity to work alongside experienced Occupational Therapists.  You will work autonomously, undertake a varied and diverse workload and provide interventions in predominately home based settings, making a true difference to our client’s independence and well-being.

The team is an established and progressive multi-disciplinary team which includes Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Social Work and Speech Pathology services, supported by a Clinical Intake Co-ordinator and Allied Health Assistants.

The RAHT works from a new multipurpose community based facility in the CBD of Shepparton with access to a modern well equipped clinical space, fleet vehicles, laptops, smart phones and remote Internet access to assist in the delivery of services within home and community settings to the frail aged and people with a disability (there is no nursing home work).
 
The Occupational Therapist will provide person centred care with an opportunity to:



  • Travel across the Goulburn Valley region working in home and clinic settings

  • Work with clients, carers and families to provide practical solutions to promote independence and safety at home

  • Develop goals and care plans to assist clients to remain at home and active in their local community

  • Complete equipment prescriptions, home modifications, advise on pressure care management/ seating 

  • Work with a diverse range of clients and health conditions

  • Participate in student training programs

  • Participate in service development and quality improvement initiative


A comprehensive orientation program is available, along with supervision and support opportunities.

Applicants must have:



  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent.

  • Current registration with the AHPRA.

  • Broad knowledge and experience in the planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of current Occupational Therapy programs within home and community-based settings.

  • Be self motivated with a high level of communication, organisational and time management skills

  • Be able to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Hold a current motor vehicle licence.
