Occupational Therapist – Flynn Unit (Acute Inpatient Mental Health)

Latrobe Regional Hospital is the main provider of mental health services in Gippsland with inpatient care at the hospital and community mental health services.

Our Flynn Unit is a 31-bed unit that provides inpatient care services for people aged between 16-65 years delivering acute treatment and recovery-based interventions.

We’re looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about building a career in mental health.  You’ll be conducting assessments, creating intervention plans, facilitating group activities and liaising with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe discharge plans are achieved.

You’ll enjoy working as part of multidisciplinary team, taking a collaborative approach to deliver individualised person-centred care, to support patients with their recovery.

You will be provided with professional development opportunities, allowing you to build mental health and discipline specific skills in a supportive and growing team.  While experience in mental health is desired, it is not essential.  It is important that you have some clinical experience, however we are looking for someone that has a passion for providing the best in care and working as part of a team.

To find out more about this opportunity, we encourage you to contact Sriram Sugavanam on (03) 5173 8316 for a confidential discussion.
