Community Rehabilitation

Community Rehabilitation offers client-centred, goal driven rehabilitation services to maximise a client's independence, health and well-being following acute illness or injury. Community Rehabilitation consists of large interdisciplinary teams that work with the client to achieve their rehabilitation goals and provide home and centre based therapy.

This may be your opportunity to join a well-established, warm and inviting Community Rehabilitation interdisciplinary team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and skilled Occupational Therapist to provide time-limited, evidence-based and goal-oriented rehabilitation to a diverse adult population with varying conditions e.g. Neurological, orthopaedic, cardiac and pulmonary.

You will be able to work autonomously and as part of a team providing assessment and intervention to clients in the centre as well as their own environment via a variety of modalities including face to face, tele-rehab and online groups.   You will have the opportunity to participate in quality improvement/ research activities within the Community Rehab OT service and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will receive regular supervision from a Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist and participate in and receive regular professional development. You will also be supported by the Team Leader and Manager.

This position may be required to work at any of the Monash Health sites and may be centre based or home based.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification),

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (practicing, no restrictions)

  • Current drivers licence

  • Experience in Community Rehabilitation/Hospital based Rehabilitation

  • Experience in Neurological Rehabilitation 

  • Experience in Public Health (desirable)
