This is a wonderful opportunity for a dynamic Occupational Therapist with a passion for acute patient care.

We currently have a Grade 2 full time permanent ongoing position available in our acute OT team, covering an exciting variety of clinical caseloads (Neurosciences, Gen Med, surgical and specialty medicine). This position sits within our large supportive acute service, primarily delivering Occupational Therapy across Monash Medical Centre Clayton & Moorabbin Hospital sites, and our new Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH).

About the Role

We are looking for a flexible G2 clinician to join our acute team covering staff annual leave. You will work collaboratively with inclusive and passionate occupational therapy and allied health staff to provide excellent, evidence-based care for patients and their families/carers across medical, surgical and neurosciences streams. This role is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality assessments and intervention for patients within a fast-paced environment.

What we’re looking for in you

Occupational Therapist with clinical experience in acute occupational therapy, for example neuroscience, general medicine, special medicine and surgical caseloads. You will have the opportunity to work alongside other experienced and team-focused clinicians. The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate leadership qualities within OT and multidisciplinary teams
  • Implement clear communication and advocate for best care for the patient
  • Engage patients in the participation of their treatment journey
  • Acknowledge responsibility for own learning
  • Collaborate with others in the development of department resources and research pursuits

What you need:

  • Experience in providing a high quality clinical service to patients in the acute setting
  • Passion for enhancing patient experiences and facilitation of occupational performance;
  • Demonstrated skill in teaching, supervision and promoting the growth and development of staff; 
  • An aptitude for ongoing learning and personal professional development; 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; 
  • A keen interest in evidence-based practice, clinical inquiry, research and service improvement.  

Eligibility for membership of relevant professional association and current Occupational Therapy AHPRA registration are requirement for this role.
