Our Journey
Biala Unit is a 20 bed aged acute unit based at the Kingston Centre Cheltenham. Biala Unit provides acute care and treatment and intervention for those older people (65 years and over). We are presently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist Grade 3 for a full time ongoing position. You will have the opportunity to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team where you will have a pivotal role in contributing to a positive team culture.
A Day in the Life
You will work independently within approved scope of practice to provide safe, evidence-based assessment, outcome measures, therapeutic care and/or discharge planning according to organisational policies and procedures in order to achieve optimal care. You will also provide high levels of specialist knowledge, advice, or guidance to other clinicians to support safe and effective consumer-centred care.
We will also see you demonstrate that you can lead/oversee high-performing clinical teams, and provide expert advice on clinical issues as required. You will be required to work collaboratively with consumers, their families and/or significant others and other stakeholders to establish a patient/client focused multidisciplinary management plan, consistent with currently accepted professional standards of practice and evidenced based practice.
The current team comprises of Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Registrars, Neuro and Clinical Psychology, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Psychiatric Enrolled Nurses, Social Work, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapist and Psychiatric Service Officer. Biala Unit provides a holistic model of care and is proud to be able to focus on all aspects of general and mental health care.
