Ongoing, Part Time, 64.0 hours per fortnight                                            

A fantastic opportunity exists for a Grade One Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team.  This is a great chance to enjoy a rotational role providing variety and an array of learning opportunities to support your skill development.  New graduates are encouraged to apply for this role and will commence at Year 3 classification due to our regional location. 

The Position:

In this role you will have the opportunity to enjoy rotations in either Outpatients; Inpatient rehabilitation and GEM; or the Inpatient acute wards.  You will provide therapy for consumers that promotes, maintains and assists recovery and independence in all aspects of daily living, at home, work, and in the community, as well as supporting the multidisciplinary team to embed innovative models of care.  With a strong departmental focus on professional development and peer support, you will consolidate and extend your Occupational Therapy skills in a professional environment. 

The Team:

Our Allied Health team is driven to embed innovative models of care that aim to provide holistic care with a strong focus on client engagement.  Our Occupational Therapy team comprises a Team Leader, Grade One and Two Therapists and is supported by a team of Allied Health Assistants. Our close-knit team will provide a supportive and social environment to assist your transition to BRHS. 

What you need:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Sound knowledge and experience in one or more of the areas of acute inpatients and inpatient rehabilitation/GEM or community/outpatient rehabilitation.
  • Well-developed, clear and concise communication skills, which promote client and service interests.
  • A positive manner with the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Ability to research and apply evidence based practice.
