About the role
Eastern Health has 2 very exciting and rare opportunities for experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapists to join our team. As part time opportunities, these roles may suit someone with clinical expertise in paediatrics who is looking for work life balance. Or alternatively the roles may be combined to create a full time grade 2 role until June 2023.
1. Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service - Eastern Health.
The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service caters for babies, children and adolescents who require specialist interdisciplinary rehabilitation. The young people supported by VPRS are recovering from acquired brain injuries, medical/surgical intervention or require tone management or early diagnostics, surveillance and support for Cerebral Palsy. Services are provided in collaboration with the medical and allied health team, in either the Community Rehabilitation Centre or in the child’s community
Experience working with a paediatric population and their families, particularly with brain injuries and cerebral palsy, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team will all be viewed favourably. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in a paediatric rehabilitation setting. Experience with upper limb splinting and assessments including the HINE, HAI, AHA suite and/or BOHA will also be viewed favourably.
2. Special Care Nursery and Newborn Services
This role will primarily be working with babies and their families within newborn services at Box Hill Hospital and Angliss Hospital. The successful applicant will have clinical expertise in neonatal care and/or developing knowledge and skills in this area. Knowledge and experience in Infant assessments including Prectyl’s General Movements, HINE and Bayley Scale of Infant Development would be viewed favourably. Support and training will be provided for paediatric clinicians who have some experience of working with babies and are keen to develop further within this area of expertise.
