The Position:

This role will deliver Occupational Therapy for clients that promotes, maintains and assists recovery and independence in all aspects of daily living, at home, work, and in the community. This role will have a primary focus on services to inpatient consumers of Bairnsdale Regional Health Service in acute or rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM) clients. Our Occupational Therapy team comprises a Team Leader, Grade One and Two Therapists and is supported by a team of Allied Health Assistants.  We have a close-knit team who offer a supportive, social and fun environment, which will provide you with a great transition to BRHS. 

What you need:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Sound knowledge and experience in one or more of the areas of acute inpatients and inpatient rehabilitation/GEM or community/outpatient rehabilitation.
  • Ability to provide patient centred care and goal focused interventions in Occupational Therapy in an inpatient environment.
  • Pro-active, clear and concise communication skills which promote service and client interests.
  • Ability to participate as an effective and collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of patient care, contributing to care coordination and discharge planning.
