Summary of the role:
Mercy Mental Health & Wellbeing Service, a provider of Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing services in the southwest metropolitan area of Melbourne, is establishing an Older Adults community based team. We are seeking mental health clinicians with expertise in the care of older people experiencing mental ill health.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of a new community team that will provide mental health support to older adults living within the Wyndham and Hobson’s Bay communities. You will be an experienced mental health clinician with a passion for caring for older people. Working as part of a multidisciplinary integrated community-based team that provides outreach services.
The Older Adults Community Team provides the provision of assessment, primary and secondary consultation and case management to adults over the age of 65 referred to the service who are experiencing psychological disorders, mental illness and have aged related physical co-morbidities. Outreach services are provided to older adults living at home or within Residential Aged Care Facilities. The team also provides support to families and carers.
There are both full time and part-time roles available. The team will initially be based at Saltwater Clinic in Footscray and will work across sites. Salary and conditions in accordance with qualifications.

Services are available include acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
