 Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events. 

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.


This position is available due to VICSES implementing a new operating model with a change to the structure of roles, to best serve the needs of our community and our people. 

The Operations Business Coordinator (OBC) is a multi-faceted role across the State Operations Directorate, coordinating administration and office management in support of the activities of the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Deputy Chief Officers Capability and Response and Readiness (DCOs). The role provides high level business support and service through the administration of the Operations Directorate Business Plan, including preparation of briefs, responses to Ministerials, regular reporting, Board papers and reporting, budget and financial reporting, developing presentations for a variety of audiences, along with management of stakeholders and executive support.

 This role will also be required to work outside of standing hours to meet the business needs, including meetings / functions with volunteers and relevant stakeholders, including during periods of Declared Operations.
