Position Summary: 

The Operations Liaison role involves working with CEL's customers (Victorian Government operations involved with the COVID-19 response) to understand their changing needs and determine if/how CEL can help either by changing CEL's scope of services, refining CEL's policies or adjusting processes and service standards.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage the relationship with CEL's customers to understand their needs and provide logistics solutions
  • Work collaboratively with the CEL Supply Hub and PPE team to ensure a seamless and holistic approach to customer experience
  • Ownership of CEL's service catalogue, managing the process for adding or removing goods and services provided by CEL
  • Support any other action/activities in the logistics planning function required to operate this function as the situation/operating environment changes
  • Act as the central point within CEL in relation to the scope of services provided by CEL; coordinate between Planning and Supply Hub teams to manage changes
  • Development of quick reference guides and fact sheets for any additional services
  • Assist Site Liaisons and Supply Hub officers with customer enquiries
  • Ownership of CEL's service standards, which involves ongoing monitoring and adjusting as required based on feedback from both CEL team members (specifically the Supply Hub) and customers
  • Responsible for ensuring any support or service requested is in line with the Scope of Services, and if not, to seek approval through Decision Register process
  • Review requests outside of existing scope of items/services and provide inputs to Scope Management function for Decision Register

Other responsibilities of the role may include:

  • Onboarding of new customers, specifically in relation to PPE stock
  • Supporting briefing papers and Executive reporting as required
  • Liaising with suppliers (as CEL is a distributor), specifically PPE, at a national level

Responsibilities:

  • Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
  • Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines. 
  • Operate in a complex and demanding environment, exercise sound judgement and liaise effectively with senior executives
  • Set clearly defined objectives and priorities and operate accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required, and identify processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
  • Operate in a complex and demanding environment and be willing to actively adopt new responsibilities
