The Division of Emergency, Medicine and Access at Western Health has an exciting opportunity for an experienced operational leader to join our team as Operations Manager, General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

The role is responsible for leading and coordinating staff as well as developing, monitoring and evaluating systems to achieve optimal utilisation of the programs’ resources, ensuring the organisation is responsive to the needs of the community via the achievement of patient activity and quality and safety targets. These accountabilities encompass the leadership, coordination and management of the daily operations of the medical wards at Footscray Hospital, the General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology Units and the Endoscopy Bookings Office.

To be Successful in this Role you will

• Have extensive clinical and management experience within a large, complex healthcare or other relevant organisation, preferably at a senior level


• Be able to work at both a strategic and operational level within a complex organization


• Have experience in managing and leading people, including a highly educated workforce


• Be able to consult and collaborate with others and work as an effective member of a team to deliver organisational outcomes


• Be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an allied health professional or a registered nurse
