Paediatric ED Registrar Full Time/Part Time
We are seeking additional, enthusiastic trainee to join our dedicated and professional paediatric emergency team for 6 months from August 2nd 2021 in a full time capacity (part time applicants welcomed).

Monash Children’s Hospital is a fully integrated primary, secondary and tertiary health service to approximately a third of the state’s children. It also plays a central role in the delivery of many state wide tertiary services. It is the third largest provider of paediatric medical services in Australia. Together we seek to deliver quality patient-centred health care and services that meet the needs of our diverse community.
Monash Children’s has three campuses, with all tertiary care provided at Monash Medical Centre Clayton (MMC). The full range of medical and surgical subspecialty care is available at MMC.
MMC Paediatric Emergency Department sees over 34,000 paediatric attendances annually, with a high acuity rate (almost 50% triage category 1–3), and an admission rate of over 30%. The paediatric ED at MMC is co-located next to the Adult ED but staffed separately. We are the paediatric tertiary referral centre for south-eastern Victoria. Monash Children’s new hospital facility opened in early 2017, further establishing Monash Health as a leader in paediatric care. MMC is accredited for 12 months of PEM training. Applicants may choose either 6 or 12 month PEM terms. Opportunity exists for a combined Paediatric Emergency/Adult Emergency year with successful applicants spending 6 months in each department at Monash Medical Centre. Alternatively, rotations to either Casey or Dandenong campuses can be arranged for those interested in experience paediatric emergency in different contexts.
