Palliative Care Project Officer

RN Grade 3


Fixed Term Part Time


(32 hrs per fortnight)



We are seeking a Registered Nurse with Palliative Care experience to join our dedicated team at the WHCG Cancer Centre. This temporary part time position is available for 12 months and includes working 2 days per week. The successful applicant will work within our team to develop and implement Palliative Care initiatives including a bereavement program and implementing the Palliative Approach through the Wimmera region. This role entails providing project management, building key internal and external relationships and working collaboratively with key stakeholders, reporting and analytical support, and communicating, consulting and representing the organisation on key programs and projects. The Project Officer will ensure that the initiatives are implemented and operate in an efficient and sustainable manner and are compliant with all relevant guidelines and quality standards.



Key Selection Criteria include:


Essential:



  • Current Health Professional AHPRA registration

  • Experience in leadership within a team and building a highly engaged culture

  • Proficient knowledge of clinical processes and healthcare systems

  • Proficient in the use of information technology (Microsoft Office, Teams & SharePoint) and willing to learn and master online data reporting tool(s)

  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and part of a team

  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and professionalism

  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence


Desirable:



  • Previous experience in project management

  • Palliative Care knowledge and experience
