About Us


The Monash Health Pathology Service operates under the brand name of Monash Pathology and is an integral part of Monash Health. It is one of the largest providers of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 5 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional facilities being located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There are currently 19 collection centres based within the hospital sites and community settings.


We are now looking for Pathology Collectors to perform this important service to the community encompassing Wonthaggi, Yarram, Foster, Leongatha and Cowes.


About the Role


In this frontline role you will collect pathology specimens efficiently from neonates, paediatric and adult patients, from a range of collection areas, including hospital wards, collection centres and domiciliary visits across Monash Pathology sites. You will be responsible for ensuring quality care is taken in every patient interaction.


You will be fully inducted to understand the Monash Pathology and Monash Health policies, guidelines and protocols and will have the opportunity to contribute to initiatives designed to support our commitment to continuous improvement.


About You


You hold a Certificate III or IV in Pathology Specimen Collection with previous experience in a similar role advantageous. You are committed to providing an exceptional experience for our patients and you work collaboratively with your colleagues, demonstrating flexibility when needed to achieve the team’ goals and objectives. Some travel between Monash Health sites will be required, so you will need a current Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.


Above all, you have a strong sense of community and a passion to help us build a great pathology service for the people of South Gippsland and the Bass Coast.
