Your role in our future.

We are looking for experienced administrator's with a strong background in healthcare to join the Patient Navigator team at Peter Mac.

We have two positions available a full time: 3 year fixed term role available and a permanent part time role available (0.5).

At Peter Mac, our patient care is delivered via a tumour stream model. This means that a patient's care is coordinated and provided by a multi-disciplinary team of people who have specialist knowledge of a specific type of cancer. The Patient Navigator is an integral member of this team, playing an important role in providing first line response to incoming calls from patients, families and referrers in the community and helping them navigate the organisation's care system. Patient Navigators are responsible for ensuring the patient's diagnostic, treatment and clinic appointments are appropriately timed, sequenced and coordinated.

The Patient Navigator works closely with the tumour stream specialist nurses and doctors who provide support and direction regarding daily work priorities. This includes attending tumour stream based clinics to support the clinicians and providing administrative support for the weekly multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs). The Patient Navigators also work closely with the Registration and Referrals team to ensure urgent patient are identified and prioritised for timely access to care.
