You will be a trusted partner in the organisation who provides input to your business units projects, business plan and helps integrate WorkSafe Victoria policies and initiatives.

About the role

As a People & Culture Business Partner you will work in partnership with a business area to develop business solutions and to provide high level service consistent with the organisation's policy, strategy and needs. You will be a trusted partner in the organisation who provides input to your business unit's projects, business plan and helps integrate WorkSafe Victoria policies and initiatives.

You will be accountable for partnering with the business in collaboration with the wider People & Culture team to contribute to the business agenda and present solutions to leadership that enable success through their people.

A number of 12 month fixed term opportunities have become available due to internal secondments. We are also open to discussing secondments from Victorian Public Sector and other government agencies.

This role will be office based in Geelong but may require occasional travel to other WorkSafe offices.

About you

You are an experienced P&C/HR Business Partner who has honed their HR generalist skills ideally in a large or public sector organisation.  You have demonstrated experience in business partnering to enable leadership at all levels.  This includes promoting diversity, talent management, employee relations, remuneration, building capability and providing strategic HR advice. You will also possess:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of IR/ER case management, OHS and return to work relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in engaging with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • High level of knowledge and expertise in the systems and regulations governing the HR function.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with limited guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to solve problems and provide solutions aligning to organisational goals. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline (highly desirable).
