Perinatal Emotional Health Program Clinician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified mental health clinician to join the Specialist & Therapeutic Programs team at Latrobe Regional Hospital on a Part Time basis. Reporting to the Manager Specialist & Therapeutic Programs, the successful applicant will play an important role in the provision of assessment, early intervention, support and education for women at risk of or experiencing perinatal mental health problems.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Provide active follow up of mental health screening or perinatal mental health concerns identified by midwives, maternal and child health nurses or general practitioners;

  • Support and up-skill midwives, maternal and child health nurses and mental health workers in identification, assessment and management of perinatal mental health problems;

  • Provide psychoeducation to women and their families regarding perinatal mental health; and

  • Provide advocacy for women with services to ensure timely responses

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • The ability to evaluate outcomes and recommend strategies for change;

  • The ability to influence clinical practice and systems change; and

  • The ability to develop, deliver and evaluate education programs.
