This is a great opportunity for a suitable individual to join the Theatre Team at MDHS, working in the role of Perioperative Services Manager, in a permanent Full Time position!

Perioperative Services Manager

Permanent Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

Classification: Registered Nurse – NUM 3 (NM11)

Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024

And we are seeking an energetic and dynamic Perioperative Services Manager to not only lead our perioperative team but also play a key role in our hospital rebuild that commences very soon.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a progressive team who provide surgical services to our local and wider community. The Perioperative Services manager role will enable the successful candidate to take the next step in their leadership career and be actively involved daily operations and additional initiatives.

Theatre operates 6 days per week with a variety of lists including general surgery, scopes, ENT and gynaecology.  This role is responsible for providing customer-oriented clinical, operational leadership to the team and ongoing development of practice guidelines and protocols in concert with collaborative patient management.

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Current knowledge and experience in Operating Procedures, Pre Admissions and Sterilising Operations, with relevant Post Graduate qualifications or working towards same
  3. Three years leadership experience
  4. Exceptional, relevant clinical knowledge and management expertise – minimum of 3 years' experience in a Perioperative Suite
  5. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in departmental financial budgeting and the ability to utilize information technology to enhance practice
  6. Working knowledge of national standards, regulations and compliance requirements
  7. Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and patient experience
