About the Role

Dispensary Manager, Grade 3 (1 FTE/ 40 hours per week)

Permanent, Full-time position

We have a vacancy in our friendly pharmacy team for a permanent, full-time Grade 3 Dispensary Manager to lead dispensary services for our specialist hospital.

This position oversees all aspects of the pharmacy dispensary and pharmacy services provided at our main hospital and Eye and Ear on the Park campuses to ensure that they are effective, efficient and patient-centred and meet legislative and best practice requirements.The Dispensary Manager has line management responsibility for a small team of pharmacists and pharmacy students and is responsible for the recruitment, orientation, training and management of all dispensary staff.As a member of a small team, the Dispensary Manager is required to participate in all aspects of dispensary services and participate in the manufacture of medicines where required.This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (no restrictions to practice)

  • Significant experience in a hospital setting

  • A patient-centred approach to care

  • Strong drug and clinical knowledge

  • Highly developed planning, organisational and problem-solving skills

  • A commitment to continuous quality improvement

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge of Special Access Scheme processes

  • Prior experience in aseptic manufacturing

Familiarity with Merlin® pharmacy software, CERNER® medication management software and Omnicell® automated dispensing machines is highly desirable.
