We are seeking the expertise of qualified Physiotherapists to provide services to our diverse range of patients at West Gippsland Healthcare Group, including: inpatients, outpatients and patients based in the community and aged care facilities.

We are seeking a number of part time (permanent and fixed term) Grade 2 Physiotherapists.

There are also opportunities to work casually – casuals are employed on an ‘as needs’ basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends.

The successful candidates will have:

  • A Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - Physiotherapy Board
  • The ability to provide support and supervision to junior staff, assistants and students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to apply a high level of clinical knowledge and skills in physiotherapy practice.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence

Our team is comprised of Grade 3, Grade 2 and Grade 1 Physiotherapists and is supported by a team of Allied Health Assistants.  We are located in a purpose-built Allied Health / Community Rehabilitation Centre situated at West Gippsland Hospital. As a seven day a week physiotherapy service is in operation, there may be opportunities for weekend and public holiday shifts. The position also involves education, supervision and administrative responsibilities.

Physiotherapy services include the following areas:

  • Acute inpatient units including Surgical, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Medical and Maternity
  • Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit
  • Sub-Acute Unit:  GEM and TCP
  • Aged Care Services
  • Community Rehabilitation Service, Prehabilitation and Outpatients
  • Rehabilitation Groups including: Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, Parkinsons Group, Stroke Group, Hip and Knee Groups and Strength and Balance Group
  • Community and Allied Health Team (Domiciliary Service)

IMPORTANT: All front line healthcare workers are required to have three doses of COVID vaccination and 2023 influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

The West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond. The administrative headquarters are located at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, approximately 100kms east of Melbourne.

All appointments with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (whichever is applicable for this role) and a current Employee Working with Children Check. All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
