Our Journey

The Pain Service/Clinic is an Outpatient Pain Management service within the Specialist Clinics at the Kingston Centre. We offer assessments, education and rehabilitation with a focus on a self-management approach. We are a dynamic interdisciplinary team with connections with all other teams within Monash Health consulting with clients with persistent pain. As a Physiotherapist you can make a significant difference to our diverse clients by enhancing their physical capabilities and supporting their health journey.

A Day in the Life

The Pain Management service offers support, clinical expertise and makes a difference to the quality of life of clients. This unique role involves independent assessment, identification of primary concerns and developing strategies for management of clinical care. You will work within an interdisciplinary team including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work and Dietetics. You will strive for excellent evidence based clinical care to make a positive contribution to your client’s pain management. We offer robust supervision with opportunities for mentorship and development programs to grow and expand in your career. This is a full time ongoing opportunity, working Monday to Friday but we will consider flexibility for the ideal candidate.

About You:

  • You demonstrate ability to work with complex patients with varied pain presentations
  • You are a team player with good communication skills
  • You demonstrate initiative, good problem solving skills, judgment and an attention to detail
  • You are ready to take on complex case load, you like to collaborate with other clinicians in a multidisciplinary context, and can work autonomously when needed

What you need:

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or recognised equivalent degree  
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Physiotherapy Board of Australia (practicing, no restrictions) 
  • It would desirable that you are working towards, or completion, of relevant post graduate study
