About the department

The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is a statewide specialist service which caters for the complex rehabilitation needs of children and adolescents after major injury, medical illness, and congenital conditions who undergo interventions aimed at functional maximisation. VPRS has 8 sites Monash Health, Eastern Health, Bendigo Health, Barwon Health, Ballart Health, Goulbourn Valley Health, Latrobe Regional Hospital and The Royal Children’s Hospital.  VPRS utilises a child and adolescent specific interdisciplinary care model according to best practice and will assist in delivering hospital, community and home-based services.  The service has a key role in providing long-term specialist follow-up clinics and ensuring transition to adult-based services where required.

About the role

The Physiotherapist will work as part of the multidisciplinary VPRS team in providing high quality physiotherapy services to clients of VPRS-GV. The work is varied with assessment and treatment for individual clients, participation in multi disciplinary clinics with medical specialists, group work, consultation and support to outreach services.

This is a 0.5 FTE position, however there are full time employment options available, please contact the regional coordinator to discuss.

Who we are looking for:

Applicants:

  • Must possess a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent qualification, have current registration with AHPRA
  • Should have relevant paediatric experience
  • Should have a strong understanding of physiotherapy practice in sub-acute and community settings
  • Should be able to demonstrate the ability to provide a family centred service within a rural health setting
  • Must have a current Victorian Drivers licence

The position is suitable for an established Grade 2 clinician, however a Grade 1 Physiotherapist (minimum of 1 year’s clinical experience) seeking to transition to a grade 2 and gain some additional experience in the paediatric field position may be considered.
