The Physiotherapy (PT) Student Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of PT Student placements across Monash Health, and leading delegated responsibilities to provide best practice patient care, achieve maximal operational effectiveness, develop organisational competencies, and create strong partnerships within and outside Monash Health.

About the Allied Health WISER (Workforce Innovation Strategy Education & Research)

The Allied Health WISER unit provides support and governance for allied health in regard to student and staff education delivery and best practice, credentialing and scope of practice, allied health assistance advice, informatics and projects as delegated by the Chief Allied Health Officer at Monash Health.  This role is part of the inter-professional allied health profession student coordination team responsible for coordinating and supporting the delivery of PT student clinical education across Monash Health. This role will be the key contact at Monash Health for both students and clinicians and a key liaison for education providers. They hold specialist knowledge in the field of health professional education.

Monash Health is an impressive organisation of seven public hospitals, 21 community health sites, five aged care facilities, university affiliated international research and tertiary education. We provide healthcare for the entire lifespan from pre-birth to palliative care and all stages in between, and we have recently opened the new 230-bed Monash Children’s Hospital.

About the Role

The PT Student Coordinator is a core member of the inter professional Allied Health Student Coordinator team and will contribute at an advanced level to:

  • Liaise with managers, team leaders and PT educators to identify placement opportunities across Monash Health

  • Coordinate placement offers, distributions, administration

  • Identify support needs for clinical educators and students while on clinical placement

  • Liaise with education providers around support, training and development needs for students and clinical educators

  • Advise education providers regarding curriculum development to advance work readiness

  • Facilitate training and development for clinical educators and orientation and debriefing of students on clinical placement

About You

You will have:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

  • Ability to network and engage external stakeholders

  • Ability to work to time lines

What you need:

  • current registration with APRHA 

  • working with children’s check

  • entry level qualification as a Physiotherapist

  • Working towards, or completion, of relevant postgraduate study or certification in Health Professions Education

  • Previous experience
