About Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Monash Children’s Hospital, Clayton

Our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a state of the art 10-bed Unit with a complex patient mix and provides 24/7 care for critically ill children from babies to adolescents. Our PICU is one of only two tertiary paediatric intensive care units in Victoria and is staffed by highly trained doctors and nurses who specialise in intensive care to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children admitted.

About the Role                                                                      

The Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) is a clinical leadership role with a clear focus on effective organisational and outstanding communications skills, working within an interdisciplinary acute paediatric setting. You will provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidenced based. With the assistance and direction of the Nurse Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources.

This is a fixed term 12 month maternity leave position at part time hours of 0.6EFT (48.00 hours per fortnight) working across a 24/7 rotating roster providing leadership, clinical and mentoring support.

What You Need:

  • Post Graduate Qualifications in Paediatric Critical Care Nursing

  • Minimum 12 months post qualifications in an acute/critical care setting, ideally in Paediatrics

  • Greater than 3 years experience in paediatric critical care setting 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills & experience

  • Willingness to take on a portfolio(s) contributing to ward quality improvements and National Standards

  • Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)

  • Australian working rights

  • Current AHPRA registration
