The Planner is part of a team in the Development Approvals and Design and provides planning assessments for development approvals with a specific focus on the statutory responsibility, of managing all aspects of planning permit applications. This includes liaising with stakeholders, negotiations with applicants, preparing assessment reports and briefs to the Minister for Planning, preparing correspondence and providing inputs for the department's data and information systems.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in Planning, or equivalent, is required.
  • Working knowledge of, and experience in, applying the Victoria Planning Provisions, planning schemes and the Planning and Environment Act 1987 is required, with statutory planning experience in State or local government preferred.

This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2022.
