Support the Policy Coordination team in the Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Branch and provide high quality policy advice and project support in the delivery of Pupungarli Marnmarnepu ‘Owning our Future' Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy 2020-2025

The Policy Officer will contribute to the delivery of group and departmental priorities, and to building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer focussed, collaborative, professional and engaged.

The position will suit a self-motivated and enthusiastic team player with a good understanding of self-determination reform, project management, and strong conceptual and writing skills who is keen to tackle complex problems. Key tasks will include policy writing, project management, business support and stakeholder engagement.  

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal Communities and/or Traditional Owners is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting government policy development is highly desirable.
