The Policy Officer role will provide policy reform and project support functions as part of the DELWP Yoorrook Justice Commission Taskforce, which leads DELWP’s response and engagement with the historically significant truth telling and transformational work of the Commission

The role includes the coordination of information collection, project reporting and management of the governance arrangements to support DELWP's responses to formal and other requests from the Commission.  It also supports the Truth, Treaty and Reform Branch's leadership of strategic legislative, policy and system reform initiatives across DELWP's portfolios, aligned with the Commission's mandate, including Treaty readiness and broader commitments to Aboriginal self-determination.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and society and ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people

Experience in the development of policy and/or strategic reform is desirable
