The Policy Officer will work as a key member of the Wildlife and Invasive Species Policy team to develop solutions to complex wildlife and invasive species policy issues.

This role is an opportunity to join a team of highly skilled wildlife and invasive species policy experts. As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects to set policy about wildlife and its interactions with humans. This will include contributing to one of the team's major projects - the review and remaking of the Wildlife Regulations 2013.

This role will also provide opportunities to work with a diverse group of passionate stakeholders as well as colleagues across the Victorian Government.

Your excellent stakeholder engagement, problem solving, and communication skills will set you up for success in this role.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate qualification in science, environment, natural resource management, social science, law, economics or approved equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience in designing and implementing policy and/or regulations is desirable but not essential.

This is a fixed term position, available until 11 February 2022.
