The Deparment of Premier and Cabinet's Economic Strategy Branch is seeking two talented and motivated Policy Officers to join the team advising government on solutions to complex economic policy problems.

The Economic Policy and State Productivity group works to support better economic awareness for Victoria by supporting the government to achieve its objectives related to economic development, regional and local government outcomes, international engagement, transport infrastructure, planning, priority precincts, energy, agriculture, resources and the environment. The group works in a whole of government environment by collaborating with relevant departments and agencies on policy and project development.

The Economic Strategy Branch plays a vital role in driving the government's economic recovery and reform agenda. It contributes to the development of innovative and impactful economic policies that create a more prosperous and inclusive Victoria. The branch works collaboratively with other branches and departments and strives to create a motivated and positive workplace. 

As the Policy Officer, you will work in a fast paced and collaborative environment, engaging across government to contribute to the policy design and strategic advice that drives Victoria's economic recovery and reform.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • ability to prepare complex briefs, letters, emails and reports 
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to establish and maintain relationships 

Desirable Requirements 

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in political science, economics, public policy or a related field is desirable.
